On Friday 8th July Bristol Rovers will take on Mangotsfield United at Cossham Street in their first pre-season game ahead of the 2016/17 season.
However, next Friday is about more than football as Daryl (pictured above) is the special guest of honour for the game.
You might have seen Daryl on the local news recently as he has a very rare form of Leukaemia and needs to raise funds for more treatment.
Daryl is 13 years old and from Somerset. He loves his football, plays as a goalkeeper and supports Chelsea. He lives withhis Mum, Dad, two sisters and his brother.
On the 6th April 2015 Daryl was diagnosed with Leukaemia - Atypical CML Monomonasomie 7 and GATA 2. Daryl is possibly the only child in the UK to have this very rare condition.
On the 3rd July 2015 Daryl received a Bone Marrow Transplant with Bone Marrow from his older brother Brad. Daryl did really well with this procedure and this was a really positive step for him.
Unfortunately, on the 15th April 2016 Daryl was told he had relapsed and would need further treatment.
As this would be Daryl's 2nd round of treatment his family had to apply for NHS funding, this has taken a lot of time and they have now been told at the end of this long wait he is not eligible for anymore NHS funding.
His family has been told to go private the cost is between £80 - £100K so we need to start this immediately as Daryl is becoming weaker each day.
If you feel you would like to donate to help Daryl fund further treatment, we would really appreciate anything you can give!
An appeal has been made but we don't have the time to wait to see if the decision is changed, we need to start this now.
There will be a collection on the night at Cossham Street or alternatively please click here to donate online.
