ANNUAL GOLF DAY HUGE SUCCESS

Bristol Rovers players and staff participated in the clubs annual charity golf day Monday at Farrington Park Golf Club.

Monday’s event took place on the 18 hole Duchy course at Farrington Park in fantastic conditions and a great day was had by all.

The fifth hole at Farrington was changed to the Chairman's Charity hole in aid of the Jessie May Trust.

Jessie May is a Bristol-based charity providing nursing care at home for children and young people with life limiting conditions who are not expected to live beyond the age of 19.

At the end of the day the final scores were tallied and the overall winners of the day were Wilcox Warriors who were captained by Martin Wilcox and accompanied by Bristol Rovers striker Matty Taylor.

The Golf Day Winners

1st  – Wilcox Warriors (accompanied by Matty Taylor)
2nd – Third Generation Gas (accompanied by Tom Lockyer)
3rd – J&G Fencing (accompanied by Ian Holtby)

When reflecting on the event, Bristol Rovers Stadium & Commercial Manager Ian Holtby said “we would like to make a special mention and thanks to Farrington Park Golf Club for keeping the course in excellent condition for us as well as providing everyone with a superb meal at the end of the day along with their outstanding hospitality throughout the whole event.

“We would also like to mention the lead sponsor of the event Thatchers Brewery, along with Bristol Blue Glass who provided the gifts for our winners (pictured above) as well as Office Beverages who kept everyone sufficiently hydrated throughout the day.”


Bristol Rovers would also like to thank Manager Darrell Clarke and his squad for their attendance at the event and we would also like to thank all the teams that participated in the event which was a tremendous success and look forward to an even better event next year!
