Vanarama are delighted to announce that the winner of the Vanarama Conference Manager of the Month award for February is Darrell Clarke of Bristol Rovers. 

Rovers have had a perfect month, winning all of their five games throughout the month. February saw The Gas go into the top spot of the Vanarama Conference for the first time this season.

On the announcement of the award Darrell said, “I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, it’s not about me, it’s about the efforts made by my coaching staff and my players, who put in so much effort to win five consecutive games in February.

"It’s also for our supporters, many of whom travelled to Grimsby and to Gateshead to get behind the lads; their backing has been outstanding.

"I’m happy to accept the award, and to share it with everyone at the club”

The official award panel said, “Darrell Clarke may have featured before in claiming the monthly award during the season but this one surely is the sweetest having clawed back a major points gap on season long leaders Barnet, to go top of the Vanarama Conference at the end of February.

Five straight wins has now laid down a marker to the other contenders with this remarkable run adding to an unbeaten sequence in their last 19 divisional outings. The race is well and truly on for Rovers to stay ahead of the pursuing pack with just 9 games left to play. The pressure of fan expectation has been well controlled by Darrell and he is now a firm favourite amongst the Gasheads.”
