A first chat with our latest addition

Following the completion of his loan deal this morning, Rovers latest addition Adam Dawson is “over the moon” that he has signed for the club.

“I’m grateful to Darrell for giving me the opportunity to come here and work with such a good club and the stature of a club that shouldn’t be in the conference.

“I’m just really happy to be here and I can’t wait to get going now.

Dawson has played for several clubs in his career but recently has been plying his trade on the right wing where he thinks he can really bring something to the team.

“I’m pretty versatile, I can play on either the right or the left but what I do think I can give is that width and I can get crosses into the box.

“I like taking players on and bringing others into the game and hopefully I can help provide the push for Rovers towards the end of the season.

“I assist more goals than I score but that is what I love doing, crossing the ball into the box for people to finish and with Jermaine [Easter] signing as well as the players that are already here it could be a very good link for me.

Adam has signed for Rovers on loan from Premier League side Leicester City and has said it would be a long-term goal to play for the foxes.

“I try to take each day as it comes and if I come here and work hard then maybe someday I will play for them.

“I’m very happy to be where I am at the minute and I just want to come here and play football and do the best that I can.

Dawson has spent a majority of the season on loan and Conference Premier side Nuneaton Town and tells us that he knows the level well.

“The former Leicester Under-21’s manager took over at Nuneaton and a few of the lads from Leicester went there and I think I did well there.

“Because I did well there I’ve now got a move to a big side like Bristol Rovers and I just cant wait to get going.
