Bristol Rovers defender Mark McChrystal was part of the defence that kept yet another clean sheet at the weekend against Woking with the Rovers skipper claiming that it was a hard earned point.

"Woking are a good side, they were very organised and were very difficult to break down.

"I think that's why it ended up as a bit of a stalemate in the end because there wasn't to many chances for either side.

Rovers took over 1,800 supporters to Kingfield Stadium on Saturday and McChrystal claiming it felt like a home game.

"I was very impressed when I heard the number of supporters that were going and we heard that some of them didn't get into the ground which is disappointing but the level of support this season has been fantastic.

"The supporters are a real positive and just show how big a club this is. 

Matty Taylor twice had efforts ruled out for offside by the linesman with McChrystal sure that they should have counted.

"Well I was over 60-yards away but the first one looked like their defender has put him through so I'm not to sure what happened there.

"We didn't get given the goals so there isn't much point getting caught up on them now we've just got to accept it and move on.

"Matty [Taylor] is a goal scorer and loves to score goals so for him to have them taken away from him can't be nice but that's football.

League leaders Barnet dropped points in the weekend's early kick off losing 3-1 away to Grimsby but McChrystal is only worried about Rovers collecting points.

"You could look at is as we've missed a chance, but we have still gained one point on them taking it down to five points now.

"They have lost but we didn't but we can only really look after ourselves and the points we can get.

"It is very tight at the top now and I'm sure Barnet are looking over their shoulders but not only at us, there are other teams there as well.

This weekend Rovers face another Saturday without football following the postponement of their fixture with Braintree Town which has really frustrated the Rovers skipper.

"It is pretty difficult because as a footballer you want to play week in week out and try and find that consistency as a team.

"If you look at the games we played over Christmas playing every few days we put a good run together so not playing is really frustrating.

"Training is always directed towards a game so for us not to have one on Saturday is annoying, there will be a few games at the weekend where we have to see what happens but that is the way it is in football."

Darrell Clarke made two additions to his squad last week bringing in Adam Dawson on loan as well as the permanent capture of Jermaine Easter and McChrystal tells us that they have fitted in perfectly.

"I think the lads have made them both feel welcome and the lads have come in and seem to have settled pretty quickly.

"Obviously Jermaine came on for the last 30 minutes on Saturday and Adam didn't get on but his chance will come.

"They are both very level-headed lads who can definitely help the team which at the end of the day is what everyone wants.

"Jermaine has been around the game at a really high level for long enough now that he can help everyone in the squad especially the young strikers that we have already at the club.
