The Pirate Moves to Larger Editions for League Games

11 November 2021

Buoyed by fantastic support from the fanbase, we are pleased to inform supporters that our match day programme The Pirate will move to a 48-page edition for league matches.

Since the return of supporters to the Mem this summer, the programme sales have returned in strong numbers, showing the appetite amongst the fanbase for a printed version of The Pirate, which is available to be purchased when arriving at home fixtures.

We tried to cater for those that no longer carry cash by making the programme available in the Superstore and the newly-opened mobile retail unit, as well as a small number of copies available at the kiosks, where card payment is available.

Speaking about the move, Programme Editor Andy Downie said: “We are committed to listening to supporter feedback when it comes to the construction of the matchday programme.

"The increase in page numbers will allow us to cover more topics inside each edition, touching base with fantastic work that the likes of #HerGameToo and the Community Trust are doing, while also housing more editorial content that is tailored for our fanbase.

"Clubs around the country have taken different approaches in regards to their matchday programme this season but we are committed to producing a printed edition for each league fixture, packed with original content.”

The larger pagination will commence this Saturday, as we mark our Remembrance Fixture with a poignant cover.

You can purchase your copy of The Pirate online, at our Superstore, mobile retail unit (behind the Thatchers Terrace) and from the Supporters Club volunteers around the stadium - priced at £3.
