Opposition Preview...

Ahead of his side's trip down south, John Coleman spoke to the accringtonstanley.co.uk regarding an away clash with the Gas, saying, "I'm expecting a totally different game than what we played at home. Joey knows what he's doing, they've had decent result, then no disgrace to lose to the top of the league at the weekend so we expect a tough game.

"Every team can beat each other, you couldn't call any scores beforehand and we're seeing that week in week out, you need a bit of luck and a bit of application."

Form Guide...

Two red cards in recent weeks have stunted Accrington Stanley's impressive early-season form, with Stanley taking no points from clashes with Crewe Alexandra and Ipswich Town, with both games marred by ill-discipline.

Accrington took on Swindon Town most recently though, securing a 2-1 victory on home turf. Dion Charles leads the scoring charts for Accrington, racking up an impressive 15 goals so far this season and providing a superb return since his move from Stockport County in 2019.

Referee Watch...

James Bell has been appointed as the referee for this midweek clash, he's previously officiated one Rovers game this season, our 0-0 away draw against Wigan Athletic in November. In his eight League One games so far this season, Bell has issued 22 bookings and 3 red cards, while awarding no penalties.

Previous encounters...

The Gas will be more than aware of their previous result against this week's opponents, with a resounding 6-1 defeat conceded away from home, with players determined to set the record straight this Tuesday evening.

Previously, Rovers competed against Accrington in an exciting 3-3 draw down at the Mem, with fans witnessing a superb overhead kick from JCH in a game that'll live long in the memory of those there that day! Check out match highlights from the game down below...
