Match Preview: Barton on Shrewsbury Town
Speaking to shrewsburytown.com, coach David Longwell said, "There's a bit of an unknown, all we can do is prepare ourselves as best as we can, we know that it's going to be a really tough game.
"We'll give them the most respect, we expect them to come after us, they're fighting for points as we all are and we've just got to try and give everything and go out there and try and get a result."
Shrewsbury have shown exceptional form as of late, with Steve Cotterill stepping in and steering the Salops to an unbeaten run stretching back to the 2nd of February. Recent impressive wins over Sunderland and Peterborough stand out, with their latest victory coming on Tuesday against MK Dons. While still recovering from COVID-19, Cotterill has left the dugout duties in the hands of his coaching staff who have continued on from his early successes.
Harry Chapman has shown exciting form for the Salops this campaign, however, Shaun Whalley leads the scoring tally so far, with 6 league goals to his name.
In an unusual twist to tomorrow's action, Rovers will be playing in their away strip at home, this is due to all of Shrewsbury's away strips clashing with the Gas' famous blue and white quarters.
EFL sponsors Sky Bet have offered a price boost for this weekends encounter, pricing Rovers to win, with both teams to score at 13/2. With Brandon Hanlan awaiting a final check ahead of this weekend's action, it could be the turn of Daly or Ayunga to lead the line, with both forwards priced at 14/5 to score at any time.
