David Bright joined Rovers last week in a newly created role of Head of Sales.
David’s career so far has seen him spend time as golf professional, working at the Celtic Manor Resort in South Wales, before joining Glamorgan Cricket as their Head of Cricket Sales in 2020.
When asked what drew him to the Mem, David was quick to point out the club’s potential for growth, “I've worked in the sporting world before at Glamorgan Cricket where I looked after all aspects of corporate, hospitality and sponsorship,” said David.
“This club has huge potential and I'm excited to get started. Bristol Rovers is a big club with a rich history. I'm confident that the club can go as far as it wants and I'm proud that I get to be a part of trying to make that vision a reality."
Some of David's short-term aims in his new role include expanding the relationship with the club's current sponsors, “Maintaining a healthy relationship with our sponsors is critical for the club to grow, as both a footballing power and as a business,” added David.
“Sponsorships allow us to grow as a club, keeping our sponsors on board with what we are doing at the club will allow us to perform at a higher level off the pitch."
Long-term, David wants to explore new and modern ways of expanding our revenue streams to continue a trend of positive progression at the football club.
“We want to make it as easy as possible for fans to attend games, be that in the Thatchers End or people wanting to purchase hospitality packages.
“One way that we have recently started doing this is the introduction of matchday tickets being available on your Apple Wallet. One of the other ways that we want to modernise our approach to this side of the club is the introduction of a new online booking system that will allow fans to easily book matchday packages in a more user-friendly way."
“These may seem like little points, but all these contribute to a better match day experience for our supporters.
“In my team, we will have an enhanced focus on the way we market ourselves externally and we’ve got a Marketing Executive starting with us who will take on the responsibilities in this field to ensure we are communicating regularly and efficiently with our fanbase.”
“I’ve already received lots of positive welcoming messages from supporters and I’m very excited to get to work, with the goal of bringing success here to Bristol Rovers.”
