Derek Scale will climb the highest mountain in Wales this month in a bid to raise funds for a charity that is close to his family.
Coach Derek Scale has been a popular figure within the club's academy for over 13 years, working with younger age groups and helping to teach and inspire the next generation of Rovers players hoping to progress through the academy.
Later this month, Derek will be climbing Snowdon in North Wales, hoping to reach his fundraising goal of £4,000 for the Cots for Tots Appeal.
The charity is close to Derek's family, as he explains, "The charity is close to our heart due to my own personal experience.
"My son was born four month’s early and weighing less than 2lbs. He was given a 30% chance of survival, but despite all the odds, he spent 7 months in the Neonatal unit in Bristol before coming home in January 2011.
"I will be climbing Snowdon Mountain with the hope of raising £4,000 to pay for 300 pairs of Miniboo's. These are used for bonding, so that babies can still smell and feel connected to their Mum or Dad, even when they are away from them, for example overnight."

Everyone at Bristol Rovers wishes Derek the very best of luck for his climb later this month!
