Reminder - Brand Protection

15 April 2021

We would once again like to remind fans to only purchase official club products. There has recently been an increase in disreputable and unlicensed traders illegally using the club's protected trademarks without permission.

As updated previously, the club has over the past year been working on ensuring that all club marks are protected. We can now confirm that the certification has been received for the following areas;

  • Use of the ‘Bristol Rovers’ name
  • Use of ‘BRFC’
  • All current and previous club logos

In order to deter counterfeiters, we also work with the brand protection agency Back Four Ltd, who police the physical and online marketplace for infringing club product and initiate action.

We would like to stress to supporters that the sale of any product containing the Club's property that isn’t designated as an officially licensed product or sold through the club's channels, is illegal.

For these reasons, we would ask Rovers fans only purchase official club products from the club's trusted sources.

Supporters can report the sale of any products that are being sold illegally to the email as well as enquire about the use of the Club's trademark. All information will be treated with the strictest confidence and only shared with trusted law enforcement colleagues.

If the Club has not agreed to a relationship with you or your product, then you should consider that you do not have permission to produce or sell merchandise that bears any of the trademarks mentioned above.

This includes the production of samples to show your manufacturing capabilities.

Bristol Rovers Football Club has a passionate and involved fanbase that proudly illustrates their love for the club when wearing the badge, often up and down the country in normal times.

However, a small number of individuals continue to exploit fan loyalty to the club, utilising Bristol Rovers branding for their own commercial gain.

This continued disregard for the club's trademarks negatively impacts the club's finances, brand and continues to fund external agents who do not have the club's best interests at heart. Furthermore, as a club, we work hard to ensure that we provide the best quality products for our supporters from reputable suppliers and we cannot guarantee that the same processes are followed by those not endorsed by the club officially.
