David Coles Appointed as Goalkeeping Coach

18 September 2020

The Club is pleased to announce the appointment of David Coles as goalkeeping coach.

Coles has a vast amount of coaching experience, working in both the Premier League and Championship, taking in spells coaching at Southampton, Portsmouth, West Ham United and Bristol City.

During his career, Coles has worked with the likes of David James, Dean Kiely, Asmir Begovic and Rob Green and during the past 12-months has been working with the England U18's setup.

Coles will take on the role of first-team goalkeeper coach following the departure of Adrian Tucker.

On the appointment to his first-team staff, Manager Ben Garner said, "I would like to welcome David to Bristol Rovers.

"David has a wealth of experience within the game most recently as a national team goalkeeper coach for the FA. He will add to the coaching staff we already have at the football club with his knowledge and enthusiasm for the game.

"There's been a transition period between David and Adrian Tucker this week, who know each other well, which has ensured that the development and preparation of our goalkeepers has remained at a high level.”
