Emirates FA Cup Preview - Baldwin on Darlington

27 November 2020

Defender Jack Baldwin caught up with the press ahead of Sunday's FA Cup clash with Darlington...

Baldwin kicked off his discussions with the media by referencing the magic of the FA Cup, and what it means to him, "As a young lad, you look at the FA Cup for the chance for the underdog to come up against the big teams and to really showcase your skills against some of the best."

With a goal and an exemplary performance to his name in the first round against Walsall, it's clear Baldwin has his eyes firmly set on securing progression through this historic competition.

"Over the past few years, people have been saying that perhaps it has lost its shine, but as a player, there's certainly still something special about the FA Cup.

"Personally, I have scored a couple of goals in the FA Cup and it's a great feeling, so the aim now is to create more positive memories on Sunday."

The 27-year-old also offered his thoughts on his time working under Paul Tisdale so far, as the Bath-based manager reached a week in charge of the Gas.

"We've had a couple of training sessions with the new Manager and have a few more towards the back end of this week, the opportunity to get in three solid days of training for him to implement what he's trying to portray across to us.

"As players, you have to respect what the Manager wants us to do and we have to implement his messages.

"Everyone is on board with what Paul wants to and hopefully, we can start portraying that with results this weekend and beyond."
