Match Preview: Bromley FC

8 November 2019

We look forward to our FA Cup First Round tie against Vanarama National League side, Bromley.

Spirits will be high in the Rovers camp following a valiant victory over Rochdale, which required real defensive resolve to secure a 2-1 win despite an onslaught of Rochdale pressure in the 2nd half. This result, added to the late comeback against Portsmouth to draw 2-2 illustrates the character in the dressing room at the moment.

This week the Gas host Bromley, a club also in high spirits at the moment, sitting 1st in the National League and looking like early favorites to secure promotion to the EFL. However, despite their league position, they will arrive on Sunday on the back of a disappointing defeat to 21st placed side Wrexham.

Below is all the pre-match details ahead of kick-off on Sunday...

Manager Preview: Joe Dunne spoke to the press on Friday morning about his ambitions for the FA Cup this year...

Players Preview: Victor Adeboyejo was on press duty too after he scored last weekend against Rochdale.

Opposition: Bromley look the real deal in the National League, dispatching fellow league challengers Halifax Town and Yeovil Town 5-0 and 3-1 respectively. However, they have come unstuck in recent times against teams lower in the division, notably Stockport and Wrexham in the last few weeks. Regarding their journey to this stage in the competition, they faced fellow National League side Aldershot in the Fourth Qualifying Round and played out a real spectacle at their home ground, winning 4-3, surviving late pressure from a resilient away side.

The Gas will have to be on guard from set-pieces against Bromley, with three of their four goals in the FA Cup Qualifiers coming from dead-ball situations.
