Bristol Rovers Community Trust are honoured to have won the Silver Award for the Best Football Community Scheme (Non-Premier League) at the prestigious Football Business Awards in London on Thursday evening.
The Football Business Awards are an annual event that celebrates and pays tribute to the businesses and organisations that enable the continued success of the game. The awards recognise and reward the off-pitch talents and endeavours that are invaluable behind the scenes at football clubs across the country.
Bristol Rovers Community Trust were shortlisted alongside some of the most successful football charities in the UK, including Cardiff City Foundation, Derby County Foundation, Sunderland Foundation of Light and Fulham FC Foundation.
Community Trust CEO, Adam Tutton, said: "It’s a huge honour for us to be awarded the Silver Prize for Best Football Community Scheme at the 2019 Football Business Awards. To be selected alongside some of the most successful foundations in the country was a huge achievement but to be awarded for the silver prize is truly fantastic. I'd like to thank Bristol Rovers Football Club, our staff, funders, partners, Board of Trustees and all of our participants for making 2019 another incredible year for Bristol Rovers Community Trust."
Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Bristol Rovers Community Trust, Ken Masters, also added: This is our fifth award in the past eighteen months. We are very committed to what we do. I am proud of the work of our Trustees, executive management, staff, all of our participants, students and users. We will continue to work even harder to achieve our aims of inclusivity and diversity and to widen participation within our communities.”
The Football Business Award tops off another hugely successful year for the Trust after picking up 'Community Club of The Year' at the Bristol Sport Awards, as well as being awarded the ‘Grassroots Project of the Year’ 2019 by the Gloucestershire Football Association.
