Bristol Rovers Community Trust are delighted to be launching a new Community Health and Wellbeing programme.
Stretch and Tone is a friendly, low impact exercise class set to relaxed chart music. In the 45 minute sessions, participants flow through a sequence of strengthening poses, deep stretches and gentle movement. Some of the moves are based on yoga postures, but you certainly don't have to be a yogi to take part! Classes begin by moving our bodies to warm us up, before releasing into some slower, longer stretches and finish with a 5 minute relax. The class is suitable for anyone over 16, of any shape, size or fitness level. No experience is necessary and moves can be adapted if anyone is nursing stiffness or injury. There's something for everyone!
The class instructor, Nadia Porter said, "I've been teaching Stretch and Tone classes since I qualified as an Exercise to Music instructor 4 years ago and love the variety of people I meet teaching it. The beauty of it is, if you have never exercised before, it acts as a great, gentle introduction, which will allow you to strengthen and lengthen your muscles without impacting your joints. If you already exercise, it's a great addition to help your body recover and release any tightness, and perhaps look after your body in a different way".
Classes take place on the upper floor of Lockleaze Community Sports Centre, Bonnington Walk, Lockleaze, Bristol BS7 9XF every Tuesday at 7pm and Friday at 10:45am. For further information please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
