Match Preview: Rovers v Barnsley

Rovers conclude their campaign with safety already secured, at home to title-chasing Barnsley at the Mem on Saturday afternoon, kick off at 5.30pm.

With results around the foot of the table going Rovers way and Graham Coughlan's men picking up a point away at Fleetwood Town, the club ensured that it will be playing League One football in the 2019/20 season.

Opposition: Barnsley head into Saturday with Championship confirmed for next season, after both Portsmouth and Sunderland lost their games in hand on Tuesday night and they are still in with a shot at claiming the League One title. Luton Town, who are at home to in form Oxford United this weekend, have won just one of their last five games and opened the door for Daniel Stendel's men, who are behind the Hatters only on goal difference. The Tykes will arrive at the Mem in good shape, having won their last four, however all six of their league defeats this season, have come away from home. 

Star Man: Goalkeeper Adam Davies has had a season to remember for the Tykes after securing promotion, keeping 19 league clean sheets, keeping net for the best defence in the league and being named in the SkyBet League One Team of the Season.

Stat Attack: No side in League One is better on their home turf than Barnsley, who have amassed an impressive 53 points out of possible 69 at Oakwell. They have won 15 out of their 23 games at home, drawing the other eight and conceding as little as 16 goals in the process; a record bettered only by Charlton Atheltic, who have seen their home net bulge on just 15 occasions this campaign.
