Match Preview: Bristol Rovers v Charlton Athletic

15 March 2019

Rovers host Charlton Athletic at the Mem on Saturday afternoon, looking to make it four league wins on the spin.

Rovers head back to BS7 after two superb wins on the road against both Scunthorpe United and Gillingham over the past seven days - stretching the Gas' winning streak to three games in Sky Bet League One.

Nine points have helped Rovers climb up to 16th in table, sitting three points clear of the relegation places heading into the weekend's round of fixtures.

Graham Coughlan's men have also kept three clean sheets in a row in the process and victory on Saturday could take The Gas as high as 12th and six points clear of the drop zone.

Chris Hargreaves' View: The Assistant Manager was on pre-match press duties on Thursday morning and discussed how Rovers can carry their good form into Saturday.

Opposition: 5th place Charlton occupy a playoff spot and have a healthy eleven point gap ahead of Peterborough United in 7th. The Addicks' recent form has been positive as well, taking 11 points from a possible 15 in their last five games, losing none in the process. Their most recent outing was against Burton Albion at The Valley, with Bowyer's men prevailing 2-1 as Lyle Taylor and Ben Reeves notched for the hosts.
