Bristol Rovers are committed to showing their support this Saturday for charity "Level Playing Field" Week of Action at this weekend's game against Blackpool.
Level Playing Field (LPF) is a registered charity in England and Wales, and acts as a campaigning and advisory organisation to its members and other parties across all sports.
They view having a disability as a social issue, by defining disability itself as a result of social exclusion as opposed to the literal impairment itself.
LPF endeavour to remove these barriers so that -
- all fans can enjoy an equal experience at live sports events
- all stadia and sports venues are fully accessible and inclusive
- all customer and/or fan services are equal and inclusive
- disabled people are seen as customers with a commercial value
At this weekend's game, working with Rovers' Disabled Supporters Association (DSA), the club will be displaying its support for LPF's Week of Action with the players donning warm up shirts, our Community Trust putting on a pan-disability game at half time, with those same players walking out with the Rovers team ahead of kick off.
The DSA will also be doing a recruitment drive to get more members involved with the association.
We hope all fans will join us in supporting this charity and you can find out more about Level Playing Field HERE.
