21 January 2019

All the pre-match content heading into Tuesday's Checkatrade Trophy tie against Port Vale.

Rovers entertain Port Vale in the Quarter Final of the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday evening with a place in the final four of the competition at stake.

The Gas will be looking to bounce back from a slim defeat on Saturday to Wycombe that ended a six-game unbeaten streak, ahead of the upcoming weekend without any Sky Bet League One action for Graham Coughlan's side.

Manager's View: Graham Coughlan spoke to the press on Monday morning and signalled how Tuesday's game offers the squad a chance to react to Saturday's defeat.

Ricky Miller grabbed the important goal for Neil Aspin's men in the first half on Saturday afternoon, as Vale climbed up to 18th in Sky Bet League Two. So far in the competition, Port Vale advanced from a group that included Burton, Middlesborough U21's and Walsall. In the knockout stages, Port Vale have beaten Stoke U21's and Shrewsbury Town to progress to this stage of the competition.
