Opposition View: Bradford City

Press Talk...

The Bradford boss spoke to the press on Thursday to discuss the trip to the Memorial Stadium and hinted that he wants his side to replicate the standards he sees on the training pitch in matches, especially in front of goal.

Bowyer told Bradford's Official Twitter account, "The way we are going about our training and our work is something I want to implement for the long term. This week we have to play better in the final third. We have looked strong in training and hopefully that translates into goals on Saturday."

Talking about the prospect of facing Rovers, the Bradford boss praised the recent turn around of the Gas under Graham Coughlan, "They (Bristol Rovers) got themselves together with a good run under Graham Coughlan, with a number of quality players. They are at home and will be under pressure to come out and perform. It is more about focusing on ourselves."

Star Man...

Midfielder Jack Payne has contributed nine goals and five assists this season. Payne spent time on loan at both Oxford United and Blackburn Rovers last term, before arriving Bradford on a season-long loan from his parent club, Huddersfield Town. Payne has had to be patient in recent weeks, dropping to the bench for a run of games and was a second-half substitute last weekend in a narrow defeat against Doncaster Rovers. His last goal came in a dramatic 4-3 win over Shrewsbury in January.

Stat Attack...

Bradford have scored just once in their last five outings. So far this term, Bradford have conceded 15 goals in the final fifteen minutes of play, conceding 42 goals in the second half of games alone. On the road, Bradford's point tally away from Valley Parade stands at 13. Across the season as a whole, Bradford have been defeated by a single goal margin on 13 occasions.
