Rovers travel south on Tuesday evening to take on Exeter City in their final Checkatrade Trophy group stage game.
Darrell Clarke's men have already sealed qualification to the knockout stages of the competition, having beaten Yeovil Town and West Ham Under-21s in their first two matches.
The Grecians have also themselves guaranteed progression in the tournament, meaning tomorrow evening's clash in Devon will decide which side clinches top spot and confirms a home tie in the next round - Rovers can do so with as little as a draw, even if they were to lose the bonus point from the penalty shootout.
Marcus' view: D.Clarke's assistant stood in for his boss on media duty and dismissed any suggestion that Rovers would not be going into the game looking for the win.

Sercs' view: Midfielder Liam Sercombe came through the ranks at Exeter and also looked ahead to Tuesday evening's game.

Opposition: As mentioned above, Exeter have also confirmed their Checkatrade Trophy progression, having beaten Yeovil on penalties on matchday one and then overcoming West Ham 2-0 three weeks later. In terms of their league form, the Devon outfit are on course to make the play-offs for the second successive season as they sit fifth in the table albeit with a large proportion of the season to go. Despite that they haven't quite been at their best of late and are without a win in their last five games, losing to Tranmere Rovers and Forest Green Rovers in the league, drawing with Crawley Town and Grimsby Town as well being knocked out the FA Cup on Saturday by League One Blackpool in a narrow 3-2 loss.
Tickets: Supporters can only purchase tickets on the day at St. James' Park.
