With one game of the current season remaining, manager Darrell Clarke today began preparations for next season by announcing his retained list.
Leaving the club at the end of the current campaign are Lee Brown, whose departure was announced last week, Jonny Burn, who has been on loan at York City for most of the season, Byron Moore and Ryan Broom.
Brown is by far the most experienced of that quartet, having scored 21 goals in 318 first team appearances in all competitions, while Burn made only six appearances during his time at the club.
In his two years with the club, Moore has scored twice in 56 appearances, one of those goals, scored against AFC Wimbledon last season, being the quickest ever scored by a Rovers player in the league.
Broom, who has been with the club since he was 12 years old and has been on loan at Eastleigh this season. He scored his first Rovers goals with a brace in the Checkatrade Trophy match at Wycombe last August and has a total of 13 appearances to his name.
Marc Bola, Dominic Telford and Ryan Sweeney, on loan from Arsenal and Stoke City respectively, have today returned to their parent clubs.
We thank all of the players leaving us for their contributions and wish them every success for the future.
As for the remaining members of the squad, Daniel Leadbitter has been offered a new contract to remain at The Memorial Stadium, which means that the following players will be seen in the blue and white quartered shirts again next season; Kyle Bennett, Tom Broadbent, James Clarke, Ollie Clarke, Tony Craig, Rory Gaffney, Ellis Harrison, Chris Lines, Tom Lockyer, Rollin Menayese, Bernard Mensah, Tom Nichols, Joe Partington, Liam Sercombe, Stuart Sinclair, Sam Slocombe, Adam Smith.
