We speak to Development Squad midfielder Lewis Leigh-Gilchrist about his successful loan spell at Yate Town.
The youngster featured as a second-half substitute during Tuesday's Central League victory over Swindon and enjoyed his cameo in the convincing win.
"Obviously I would have liked to start the game. When I came on I tried to ensure I was positive and wanted to get forward as much as possible, to maybe even grab a goal or an assist," said the midfielder.
"I managed to do grab an assist so I was happy with my influence on the game."
Leigh-Gilchrist's loan spell at Yate Town recently ended, with the midfielder managing to score an impressive thirteen times during his stint at Lodge Road.
"It was a good experience for me."
"I managed to settle in really quickly and I found my shooting boots and it just went really well."
"I feel much fitter. Match fitness is a massive thing and you obviously condition yourself during in training, you can replicate that match fitness."
With a number of Development Squad fixtures in the calendar over the coming months, Leigh-Gilchrist is hoping to make the most of any potential game time between now and the end of the season.
"I'm hoping to get as many minutes as possible during the Development Squad games and hopefully impress both Chris and the Manager, which will hopefully give the chance that I'm ready to take."
