Development Squad Manager Chris Hargreaves reflects on his sides Central League victory over Swindon.
The Development Squad recorded a comfortable 5-0 victory at the GFA on Tuesday lunchtime, with Chris Hargreaves able to call upon the services of a number of first-team players for the encounter.
"The mix between the U23, U18's and first-team always works well, because you get that those experienced lads that can add that little bit of know-how and quality and I think the first-team players that played today were excellent," said Hargreaves.
Today's fixture marked the first Central League fixture for a number of weeks for the Development Squad, who had the frustration of last week's clash against Forest Green falling victim to the weather, but Hargreaves is determined to make the most of the remaining Central League fixtures in this season's campaign.
"It's frustrating not having games, so we are trying hard to organise as many as we can, on top of our Central League fixtures."
"They are a good group of players. I work with them every day and they are young boys, who work very hard and the spirit and endeavour is excellent."
"We had our ambitions at the start of the season, of what we thought we might be able to do, but it has been curtailed slightly due to the cancellation of fixtures. We want to do well and be strong, as it's a sign that we are developing decent players."
