Rovers midfielder Ryan Broom has today joined Vanarama National League side Eastleigh in a one-month loan deal.
Eastleigh, whose manager is former Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler, are currently in 14th place in the league standings, eight points off a play-off place.
Tomorrow they face an away game at Maidstone United, who are one place and one point better off than themselves.
Ryan has been with the Rovers since joining our Academy as a 12-year-old. He graduated through the ranks before being offered his first, short-term, professional contract in the summer of 2015, a deal which was later extended until the end of the season.
A regular in our U-18 side during his two years as a scholar, Ryan also attended two Welsh Training camps.
Predominantly a right-sided midfielder, he is very quick and likes to get forward as often as possible.
He made his senior debut for Rovers when going on as a second-half substitute against Birmingham City in a Capital One Cup tie at The Memorial Stadium in 2015.
His league debut came on 19th March 2016 when he went on as a late substitute in our game against Newport County.
Ryan joined Taunton Town in a one-month loan deal on 14th August 2015 and that loan was extended for a further month before his return to The Memorial Stadium.
He spent time on loan at Bath City last season and returned to force his way back into the squad for the final games of the campaign.
Yet to make a start in the league, he has made two appearances from the bench this season.
However, he has made three appearances in cup competitions this time round and scored his first goals for the club in the Checkatrade Trophy tie against Wycombe Wanderers last August.
The deal is subject to approval from the league.
