New signing Bernard Mensah hailed the club's fans as one of the reasons behind his decision to join Rovers.
Bernand completed his switch from National League side Aldershot Town this afternoon and revealed the Mem was his preferred destination amidst interest from other clubs.
The 23-year old has played here before with Barnet and Braintree Town, and the fans are the first thing he remembers when he harks back to those memories.
"There were a few clubs interested but once I heard Bristol Rovers was one of them I knew this is where I wanted to be." Bernard told the club.
"The gaffer at Aldershot played here a few years ago and told me the atmosphere and the fans are unreal.
"I played here myself as well about three years back and saw that from the fans too."
The forward was halfway through his second season with The Shots, who are tipped for a return to the Football League as they sit 2nd in the fifth tier.
Bernard had been a regular fixture in their starting XI since his arrival in 2016 and is hoping to bring the attributes that made him such a crucial player to the Mem.
"I always give it my all no matter where I play, but hopefully I can offer goals, pace and maybe some tricks!
"As a winger/striker you obviously want to score and create and goals so hopefully I can do that and offer some entertainment."
Darrell Clarke was pleased to be able add reinforcements to the squad and Bernard is relishing the opportunity the boss has presented him.
"The manager really wanted to bring me here and he told me it's a massive club and a chance to play and prove myself at a higher level.
"He said he's ready to work with me and make me a better player and that's what I want, to be a better individual and to help the team."
