Many of you will have heard about the prompt actions of a number of Bristol Rovers supporters who went to the aid of the Scunthorpe United fan who suffered a heart attack whilst leaving the Memorial Stadium after last Saturday’s match.
The gentleman concerned remains in an induced coma in a Bristol Hospital but his family are to all of those who went to his assistance on Saturday and his son’s latest bulletin on his father’s condition says; ‘whilst he is not out of the woods yet, he most certainly would have died had it not been for the prompt actions of the Bristol Rovers supporters.’
Club Chairman Steve Hamer said today; ‘As a club we are very proud of our supporters and I would like to thank those who went out of their way to help this gentleman on Saturday.
‘Too often we hear about the bad side of the game, but I think the actions of our supporters shows the caring side of football.
‘On behalf of our club I would like to wish this gentleman a speedy recovery and hope he will soon be well enough to be back home with his family.’
We do know the names of some of the people who went to this gentleman’s aid, but would like to know the names of all involved, as his son would like to meet them and thank them personally.
