Match Preview: Oxford United

9 February 2018

The Gas travel to Oxford United on Saturday with the backing of 1,800 Rovers fans, looking to get back to winning ways following last weekend.

Rovers: Prior to last Saturday's defeat at home to Shrewbury Town, Darrell Clarke's men were unbeaten in six and had won three of their last five, drawing the other two. For much of the season, Rovers' away form has been cause for concern but they now haven't lost on the road in four games, and won their last outing at Doncaster Rovers 3-1. The Gas also have an impressive record at the Kassam Stadium, claiming all three points on their previous four visits.

The Gaffer's view: Darrell Clarke discussed Saturday's game, his side's form in January, loan deals, the progress of the new signings and more in his weekly press conference.

"Every time we go there it's a big atmosphere and the fans always get right behind us so hopefully we'll send them home happy."

Opposition: Oxford are currently sat in 10th place in the league, three spots above Rovers and with a two-point advantage meaning victory on Saturday would see us leapfrog our opponents. Last time out The U's scored in the 89th and 94th minute to overturn promotion-chasing Charlton Atheltic's 2-1 lead in a dramatic and enthralling game at the Valley. They had however lost two in a row before that game, including a 2-1 defeat at home to rock bottom side Bury.
