Today is GCSE results day, one of the most nerve-wracking days for any teenager. The players, staff and management at Bristol Rovers FC would like to wish all students receiving their GCSE results the best of luck.
And if you are receiving your GCSE results today but are uncertain on what to do next, Bristol Rovers Community Trust, the clubs award winning sport and education charity may have an education programme to suit you.
The Community Trust Futsal and Education Scholarship is a full-time programme which provides school leavers with a fantastic opportunity to continue their educational and football development at the heart of Bristol Rovers.
We still have limited spaces available for this coming year, with teaching and training starting in September 2018
Head of Education, Ed Strange said: "I would like to wish all students the best of luck in receiving their GCSE results today. Whether you achieved the grades you needed for college, didn’t get the grades or are just unsure what to do next we may have a course for you. There are limited spaces left on our post-16 courses and if you are interested in studying within a professional sports environment, I urge you to get in touch with us as soon as possible. The course particularly suits students wanting to enter employment in the sport and active leisure sector as sports coaches, instructors and leaders, or those wishing to progress to higher education to study a sport related degree such as coaching, sports development or sports science.
Club Captain Tom Lockyer is supporting the programme and is encouraging those who are interested to take part. Tom said, "the Bristol Rovers Community Trust Futsal & Education Scholarship is a great opportunity to set you up for a career in sport, coaching or can be used as a route into university.”
