Loan Watch

4 April 2018

It was a busy weekend for our players out on loan, as we take a look at their fortunes over the Easter weekend.

The Development Squad pairing of Alfie Kilgour and Lewis Leigh-Gilchrist both featured in Hungerford's victory over Poole Town on Monday. Lewis Leigh-Gilchrist scored a brace, as Hungerford edged closer to safety in the National League South, ahead of a fixture against Braintree next weekend.

At Eastleigh, Ryan Broom helped Eastleigh to back-to-back victories over the Easter weekend. The winger played ninety minutes as Eastleigh scored two late goals to defeat Dover on Friday and played the majority of a 2-0 victory over Aldershot on Easter Monday and had a part in McCallum's goal.

Defender Jonny Burn started York City's 1-1 draw with Chorley on Saturday but was left frustrated the weather got the better of their trip to FC United of Manchester.

Kenan Dunnwald started Weston Super Mare's defeat to league leaders, Havant and Waterlooville, as Mo Baghdadi was introduced from the bench. Weston's scheduled game against Truro City on Monday was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. Weston are currently eight points off a playoff berth in the National League South and face Dartford next weekend.

Rollin Menayese was involved in both of Swindon's games over the busy Easter weekend. On Friday Menayese played ninety minutes of a 1-1 draw against Morecambe, as a Luke Norris penalty rescued a point for Phil Brown's side and on Monday Swindon left it late to rescue a point on the road at Crawley. Swindon are currently five points outside the playoff places heading into the final stretch of fixtures.

Academy goalkeeper Liam Armstrong won the accolade of Man of the Match during Tiverton's victory over Hitchin Town on Saturday and the goalkeeper again impressed with a number of saves during Wednesday's Development Squad fixture against Forest Green Rovers.

Development Squad defender, Ghassan Abu Hassan, who was on the bench last week for Chris Hargreaves' side, had the frustration of seeing Bishops Cleeve's fixture against Paulton Rovers postponed due to the weather and didn't fixture in their fixture against Cirencester Town on Monday, as striker Lewis Ellington also didn't feature for Salisbury against Wimborne Town on Monday, as he was an unused substitute.
