OXFORD UNITED MATCH PREVIEW

3 March 2017

We take a look at Saturday's opponents in SkyBet League One, Oxford United.

Team News: Rovers are without defender Peter Hartley, who remains sidelined with a long-term injury.

Marcus' View: 'Oxford are scoring goals freely and it is a tough place to go to.

'They are a free-flowing team that look like that can score goals from all areas of the pitch, but we have confidence that we can play good attacking football ourselves like we have shown in recent games.'

Opposition: Oxford United currently occupy 9th position in SkyBet League One and have a points tally of 49 points from thirty-two games so far this campaign. In their last five outings, Oxford have won three and lost two, with the club securing a Wembley appearance in the Checkatrade Trophy by defeating Luton on Wednesday evening.

Dangerman #28 - Chris Maguire: The twenty-eight-year-old striker has ten goals to his name so far this season.

The former Scotland international originally joined Oxford on loan from Rotherham last season but made the switch to the Kassam Stadium permanent in February 2016, with his goals in the closing stages of the 2015/16 season aiding Oxford in their promotion to SkyBet League One.

This season the striker was quick off the mark, extending his goal tally to twelve ahead of the turn of the year.

The striker's last goal came in Oxford's narrow defeat at the hands of Premier League side Middlesborough in the Emirates FA Cup, just over a fortnight ago.

Tickets: Rovers fans have SOLD OUT the clubs allocation at the Kassam Stadium.

Betting: League sponsors SkyBet offer the following betting preview for Saturday's game.

'Bristol Rovers are 5/2 to return from Saturday's Sky Bet League One trip to Oxford with all three points. The same price is available for the draw, with Oxford even-money favourites.
An away win by exactly one goal is 4/1, while it's 7/2 for the Pirates to prevail 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1.'
