14 June 2017

We take a look at Doncaster Rovers ahead of the start of the 2017/18 campaign.

Team Nickname: Donny

Home Ground: The Keepmoat Stadium

Distance from the Mem: 181 miles (362-mile round trip)

Manager: Manager Darren Ferguson joined Donny in October 2015 as his side were relegated from League One that season.

The former Peterborough boss and Son of former Manchester United boss Sir Alex guided his side to promotion from SkyBet League Two last season.

Last Season: Doncaster took League Two by storm last season but were pipped to the title on the final day of the season following four successive losses to close out the 2016/17 season.

Last Encounter: The two sides haven't met since 2008 when an early Paul Heffernan goal secured all three points for Doncaster at the Mem.

New Recruits: Doncaster have added two players to their promotion winning side from last season adding Niall Mason who completed a perminant move from Aston Villa following a successful loan spell at the Keepmoat last season and former Grimsby Town defender Danny Andrew who joins up to work with Darren Ferguson for the second time in his career.

SkyBet Odds: League sponsors SkyBet offer odds of 20/1 on the Doncaster being crowned champions come May 2018 and offer odds of 11/4 for Darren Ferguson's men to finish inside the top six.
