Getting to Know: Blackburn Rovers

Take a look at our opponents next season in SkyBet League One.

7 June 2017

We take a look at Blackburn Rovers ahead of the start of the 2017/18 campaign.

Team Nickname: Blue and Whites, Rovers, The Riversiders

Home Ground: Ewood Park

Distance from the Mem: 190 miles (380-mile round trip)

Manager: Manager Tony Mowbray has been charge at Blackburn since February 2017.

Last Season: Blackburn suffered relegation from the Championship last campaign, finishing 22nd in the table and eventually missing out on safety due to Nottingham Forest's superior goal difference.

Last Encounter: The sides haven't faced each other since the 1991/92 season, where Rovers managed to register a home victory over Blackburn in March 1992.

New Recruits: No news on any new additions to the playing staff at Ewood Park as of yet. Jason Lowe, Adam Henley, Hope Akpan, Danny Guthrie, Gordon Greer, Wes Brown, Joshua Askew and Ramirez Howarth all departed in the summer and Manager Tony Mowbray insists that he has the funds to strengthen the squad before the start of the season.

SkyBet Odds: League sponsors SkyBet offer odds of 11/2 for Blackburn to win SkyBet League One next season. They are priced at 15/8 to win promotion and are matched at 4/5 to finish inside the top six.
