Bristol Rovers Football Club are supporting LGBT History Month.
The overall aim of LGBT History Month is to promote equality and diversity for the benefit of the public.
LGBT History Month is celebrated in February in the UK, but work to educate people about prejudice continues throughout the year.
Research released by Stonewall last year revealed 72% of football fans have heard homophobic abuse at a live sports event.
But the research, conducted by ICM and released in September 2016 also showed that the majority of sports fans welcome LGBT fans and players. Almost two-thirds (63%) said more should be done to make LGBT people feel accepted in sport.
It is imperative that the game is unified in creating a safe and welcoming environment for all and Bristol Rovers are committed to providing a positive experience that stretches well beyond the 90 minutes of play.
Bristol Rovers Football Club support equality and inclusivity and are pleased to be able to support the LGBT 2017 history month.
