SUCCESSFUL EVENING FOR ROVERS AT THE BRISTOL POST SPORTS AWARDS

Bristol Rovers had a successful evening at the Bristol Post Sports Awards last night.

The annual event was held at Ashton Gate Thursday evening with the club leaving with three of the awards on offer.

Initially Darrell Clarke scooped the award for Coach of the Year award for professional clubs in the city, beating Bristol Rugby's Andy Robinson and Team GB Coach Peter Faulkner the prize having secured promotion to SkyBet League One in the 2015/16 season.

Later on in the evening, Rovers striker Matty Taylor secured his first award of the evening pick up the award for Professional Sports Personality of the Year beating IBF World Bantamweight Champion Lee Haskins and former Bristol City striker Jonathan Kodjia.

Matty Taylor then completed the clean sweep for Rovers as he won the award for Male Sports Personality of the Year pipping Bristol Rugby centre Jack Tovey and Ryder Cup golfer Chris Wood.
