It’s the first time that the 5,000 mark has been passed since our days at Eastville Stadium. Manager Darrell Clarke was delighted when the news was broken to him this morning, and paid the following tribute to the club’s supporters.
“To have sold so many season tickets before a ball has been kicked in anger is a marvellous achievement and demonstrates, to me, that our fans truly believe in what we are trying to build at this football club.
“The news is a tremendous boost to all of us and we look forward with anticipation to the first home match of our League One campaign.
“The backing given to us by our supporters during the last two seasons has been nothing short of remarkable and the atmosphere generated by a capacity Memorial Stadium crowd is very special.
“I would like to thank everyone who has purchased a season ticket but, at the same time, I appreciate that not everyone can afford to buy one. All I will say is that any Bristol Rovers supporter, whether they attend every game or can only come along to the occasional fixture, will be made very welcome at The Memorial Stadium.”
