MEMORIES OF STUART TAYLOR

30 December 2016

In tomorrow’s matchday programme we dedicate a page to Rovers’ record appearance holder Stuart Taylor.

His daughter, Emma Louise, recently wrote, on Facebook, that her father was suffering from a rare form of dementia and asked Rovers supporters to create some memories so that he could be reminded that he was once one of the most important members of The Gas family.

Several Gasheads have responded, with photos and memories of Stuart playing for Rovers and we would be happy to hear from anyone who would like to share their memories of Stuart in our matchday programme.

If we receive any memories/photos before Tuesday then we will endeavour to get some of them in next Saturday’s programme for the game against Northampton Town (deadline Tuesday 3rd January) but we will continue to print your thoughts on Stuart for the remainder of the season so that he and his family know that we are thinking of him.

For the record, Stuart made 546 Football league appearances for Rovers, a record that seems likely to stand for all time.
