A Christmas Message
Good afternoon to you all,
May I take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous, Happy, New Year.
As we reach the halfway stage of the season on the pitch we have ebbed and flowed so far, on the playing side.
There have been good moments and disappointing ones; however, over the past couple of seasons we have always risen to the challenge of the second half of the season and performed admirably, pushing ourselves into contention at the right time of the year. Let’s hope it’s the case again this season.
Overall, in the 10 months since the acquisition of the Club, progress has been very favourable, both on and off the field. There have been one or two issues with supply from our new kit manufacturer, but these are being addressed and it is hoped that the teething concerns are now behind us.
Possibly the most encouraging news is that finally we have received the green light from South Gloucestershire Council planners that permission has been granted on our target training ground site in Almondsbury, allowing the Club to now acquire the 29 acre site and proceed to create and build its first ever wholly owned training facility.
It’s a long overdue asset for the Club, as not only will it compliment all the requirements of an emerging first team squad, it will also have a significant effect on our recruitment ability, good players joining us in the future expect state of the art training facilities.
In addition, it will and should, allow us to achieve Category 2 Academy status which, as we all know, a strong youth policy is the life blood of every Club and certainly keeps our assembly line of young talent percolating through the system.
Enjoy the rest of the season; one thing for sure, we won’t be looking for anything than a positive result in every game we play!
See you at the far post!
