ROVERS TEAM UP WITH CROSSED SWORDS CLOTHING

22 April 2016

Bristol Rovers and Crossed Swords Clothing have joined forces in what we hope will be a long term working relationship.

Our first joint venture is four different slate images featuring famous players from the past, Rickie Lambert and Ian Holloway plus current fans favourite Stuart Sinclair and another featuring the best fans in the country, Gasheads on the Memorial Stadium terrace. These slates can be purchased exclusively from our club shop and cost just £18.83.

Speaking of the joint enterprise, Rovers' Chairman Steve Hamer said; "We are always looking to add to the range of merchandise that we are able to offer to our supporters.

"The four slates produced by Crossed Swords gives them the option of purchasing a unique souvenir that can be appreciated in their own home. They would also make an ideal gift for any Gashead family or friends.

"I hope that this is the start of a long and productive working relationship with Richard Tincknell and his company and feel sure that our supporters will welcome the opportunity of the quality additions to the range of souvenirs we can offer them."

Crossed Swords Clothing was formed by Richard Tincknell one year ago, on 9th April.

"At the time," says Richard, "Rovers offered supporters a range of leisurewear that was fine but which I felt lacked an option of subtlety.

"I started the venture offering a subtle, quality range of clothing that would appeal to Rovers fans who wanted to wear a Rovers inspired shirt that, despite not saying Rovers/Pirates/Gas anywhere, was Rovers to fellow Gasheads. The phrase people often said to me, and became our motto, was 'Those who know, will know'.

"Initially I had just a few options of shirt that I promoted via Facebook. Pre-Wembley play off final I was often up late into the night making sure everyone received their tops in time.

"Since then the range has developed, adding more Polo Shirts/Hoodies/Hats/T-shirts and, more recently, diversified into commemorative products such as the slate image presented to Darrell Clarke by Chairman Steve Hamer to acknowledge his 100th game in charge.

"I have met many fellow fans through Crossed Swords and made some good friends. A real bonus is seeing my range being worn on matchdays."

In the last year Crossed Swords has supported the club financially by sponsoring the Wycombe game, and raised money for the Youth Squad with a special edition polo shirt for W-s-M Gas.

Crossed Swords also ran a charity week with £5 from each polo shirt sale going to Children in Need; with the help of generous Gasheads this raised £250.
