MATCH PREVIEW: SOUTHEND UNITED

11 November 2015

A quick look at tonight's opponents

Bristol Rovers go into tonight's game looking to advance into the Area Semi-Finals of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Rovers: Darrell Clarke's men will be looking to bounce back from the clubs last outing at the Mem where they lost 0-1 to Chesham United.

Team News:
Will Puddy is the clubs only long term injury absentee but both Tom Lockyer and Ellis Harrison miss the game because of International duty.

Darrell's View:”I am looking for a reaction from the boys after the disappointing result at the weekend because this is a competition that I think we can go far in."

Opposition: Southend United currently sit in 12th place in SkyBet League One with 23 points from their 16 games. However, Phil Brown will be looking for a reaction following his sides exit to Scunthorpe United in the FA Cup at the weekend.

Dangerman - Ryan Leonard: The young defender is in great form in front of goal at the moment bagging goals in his last two outings. Leonard worked with former boss Paul Sturrock at Plymouth Argyle before joining the Blues. The 22-year-old had a very positive 2013-14 season, finishing as the Supporters' Player of the Season.

Last Time Out: Both sides played out a goalless draw at the Mem back in March 2014 with a squad that included seven current Rovers players (Steve Mildenhall, Lee Brown, Tom Parkes, Mark McChrystal, Tom Lockyer, Ollie Clarke and Ellis Harrison).

Tickets: Supporters will be able to pay on the day for tonight's game.
