A CHAT WITH: DANIEL LEADBITTER

18 March 2015

Over the last few games Daniel Leadbitter has managed to hold down a place in Darrell Clarke's starting 11 and is relishing the chance of starting football matches for Bristol Rovers.

"It is really nice for me that the manager is consistently picking me for matches because if you just come in for one or two games it is much more difficult to show everyone what you can do.

"I think it is only once you have a run of five or six games that you should be judged once you've found your feet in the side.

"It has been good for me to get a run in the side and I hope that that continues until the end of the season.

The Rovers boss has used Daniel in two different positions this season, either at right back, or right wing back and as long as he is on the pitch, Leadbitter isn't bothered where he plays.

"I don't mind what position I am used in and that is entirely up to the manager at the end of the day.

"I will play right back, centre back or even up front as long as I am on the pitch I'm happy!

Up next for Rovers is the visit of Aldershot Town to the Memorial Stadium under the lights on Friday night and Daniel is looking forward to getting back on the pitch at the Mem.

"I can't wait to get back out there, if you look at Aldershot's league position, it isn't a game that we can take lightly because they will be trying to get as many points as possible until the end of the season and they won't be taking their foot off the gas.

"They've got some good players but I still fancy us to take all three points.

"It will be good to be back playing on what will feel like a carpet at the Mem because we will actually be able to play some football on it.

"If we can take our second half performance from Saturday into the game Friday, I don't think we will have any problems at all.

Chris Lines and Jermaine Easter are now both in the Rovers squad and Daniel believes that gives Rovers an advantage over every other team in the league.

"If both of those two players are fit and firing then we have an advantage over every other team in the league because I don't imagine there is a better striker in the league than Jermaine [Easter], or a better midfielder in the league than Chris [Lines].

"Every team in this league would love to have them both and fortunately for us we have them both.

"They have added to the spirit that we have in the dressing room because we believe we can go on and win this title and looking at our remaining games, everything is up for grabs - starting on Friday.
