ROVERS TO ENTERTAIN BIRMINGHAM CITY IN CAPITAL ONE CUP

16 June 2015

Rovers drawn at home in First Round

Bristol Rovers will entertain Birmingham City in the Capital One Cup First Round.

The fixture will take place at the Memorial Stadium on Tuesday 11th August as Darrell Clarke's men return to the competition following a one year absence.

On hearing the draw, Rovers boss Darrell Clarke told us “All you hope for is a home draw and we are delighted to be facing Birmingham City at the Memorial Stadium in the first round of the Capital One Cup.

“I think facing Birmingham will provide us with a good test of how the squad has progressed and will give as a great game. They [Birmingham] finished inside the top 10 in the Championship last year winning their last three matches so we know we are in for a tough one.

“Garry [Rowett] will be in the same boat as us after one League game and I’m sure he will want to be starting the season as well as possible."
