Bristol Rovers can now announce that Billy Bodin has agreed terms with the club.
Bodin becomes Darrell Clarke’s fourth summer addition following the arrivals of James Clarke, Chris Lines and Cristian Montano.
The former Torquay man was handed a two-week trial at the start of Rovers pre-season campaign by Darrell Clarke and has put pen to paper on a short-term deal with the club.
Billy began his career with Swindon Town, moving from the youth set-up before making his first team debut for Swindon Town as a late substitute in the 2–1 League One defeat to Dagenham & Redbridge in 2010.
Bodin then moved to Torquay United after a successful loan spell at Plainmoor. Following his permanent move, he made another 66 starts scoring six goals.
A Welsh U-21 international and a former team mate of Lee Mansell at Plainmoor, he been hampered by a number of injuries during the last 18 months but has looked sharp in the pre-season games he has played for Rovers.
Rovers boss Darrell Clarke told us “He has signed this short-term deal with the club in order to prove himself.
“He is something a bit different to what we have here already and he gives us another attacking option."
