Rovers have had an impressive month recording a total of 11 points in December and currently sit in second place in the Vanarama Conference.
On the announcement of the award Darrell said, “It’s a privilege to accept this award again on behalf of everyone connected with the club.”
“Rather than it being a Manager of the Month Award, I think it should be should be the Club of the Month Award, because so many people are involved in what we are trying to do here.”
“I appreciate that we are in a results based business and the players here deserve great credit for the way they have played all season, as do the backroom staff, the office staff, and all of our supporters because we are all working so hard to achieve positive results on matchdays.”
The official awards panel said, “'Despite leaders Barnet keeping a grip at the top of the table, the challenge has been well and truly taken up by Darrell Clarke at Bristol Rovers with the Gas recording 11 points in the Vanarama Conference with 3 wins and 2 draws during December. The wins were very important coming against strong opposition and other clubs in and around the top of the table, namely Torquay United, Gateshead and Macclesfield Town.”
Vanarama would like to wish congratulations to Darrell for winning this award and they wish him and the team the very best for the rest of the season.
