Kidderminster Harriers 0-3 Bristol Rovers

Attendance: 4,229 (2,619)

Rovers continued their title charge with a convincing 0-3 win away at Kidderminster Harriers.

Three second half goals including an Ellis Harrison brace secured the points for Darrell Clarke's men before substitute Matty Taylor rounded off a fantastic away performance.

Darrell Clarke made three changes to the side that were victorious against Chester FC on Good Friday as Mark McChrystal, Ellis Harrison and Nathan Blissett came into the starting 11 at the expense of Daniel Leadbitter, Matty Taylor and Jermaine Easter.

It was the home side that had the first chance of the game as they formed a counter attack from a Rovers corner. Callum Gittings found some space 30-yards out and picked a lovely pass out to find Lee Hughes and the Harriers front man put his effort well wide of the goal.

The new front line of Rovers showed some fantastic energy in the opening 15 minutes and great link up play between Nathan Blissett and Adam Dawson crafted an opportunity for Andy Monkhouse at the far post but Monkhouse could only head wide of Danny Lewis' right hand post.

Rovers continued to threaten and a neat flick from Nathan Blissett created space for Adam Dawson on the right hand side. The Leicester wide man advanced on goal and opted to look for Ellis Harrison rather than shooting and ended up overhitting his cross resulting in a goal kick.

Lee Hughes had another opportunity for the home side on the half hour mark as he latched onto a ball over the top but could only fire into the hands of Will Puddy.

Minutes later Rovers had their first real chance on goal as Ellis Harrison was put through and forced a fantastic save from Danny Lewis to put the ball behind for a corner, which Kidderminster eventually killed.

Darrell Clarke's men continued to attack and probably should have scored as Ellis Harrison's shot was spilled by Lewis but an arriving Andy Monkhouse was unable to tap the ball home from close range.

Rovers came out in the second half all guns blazing as Chris Lines whipped a free kick into the box and Ellis Harrison jumped highest to nod the ball past Danny Lewis to send the Rovers fans behind the goal into raptures.

The Gas continued to attack in search of an all important second goal as a powerful run from Nathan Blissett resulted in the former Harriers frontman blasting his shot over from 25-yards.

Ellis Harrison was having a constant battle with Nathaniel Kelly and just past the hour mark it appeared like the young Welshman was bundled to the ground but referee Ross Joyce waved away protests of a penalty.

With just over 20 minutes of the game remaining Nathan Blissett had a fantastic chance to extend Rovers lead as a pin-point ball in from the Rovers left was met by the large centre forward but he could only direct his header into the Gasheads behind Lewis' goal.

The home side offered relatively little threat in the second period and with 15 minutes remaining Ellis Harrison tried an audacious bicycle kick after setting himself up but his acrobatic effort didn't test Danny Lewis.

With just over five minutes of the game remaining Rovers got that all important second goal as a mix up between Jamie Grimes and Danny Lewis allowed Ellis Harrison to stab home his second from inside the six-yard box.

Moments later Darrell Clarke made his first substitution of the game bringing Matty Taylor on to replace Ellis Harrison who received a standing ovation from the Rovers faithful.

Kidderminster offered very little in the closing stages and substitute Matty Taylor put Rovers out of sight in the 90th minute as Chris Lines near post corner was flicked well by Taylor and

Up next for Rovers is the visit of Southport to the Memorial Stadium before they travel to Dover Athletic for the penultimate game of the season.
