DARRELL PLEASED TO KEEP UNBEATEN HOME RUN GOING

10 September 2014

Manager on last night's win

Darrell Clarke was pleased to see his side bounce back from Saturday’s defeat with three points against Wrexham at the Memorial Stadium last night.

The manager said: “It was a good three points, against a team who had won all of their away games.

“We are delighted to have bounced back after Saturday’s disappointment, and the lads have shown me they have the character to bounce back from setbacks.

“I thought it was a good entertaining game after the first 30 minutes, where we both seemed to cancel each other out.

“I am pleased with the three points as it keeps our unbeaten home run going.”

The manager knows that his side need to improve their performances on the road, but he believes there is more to come from his players.

He said: “We have to pick our away form up if we are going to be up there challenging this season, and that starts Saturday at Lincoln.

“We will keep going and we will keep improving. The lads are working hard for me and the character is great.

“I think a lot of these players will prove their worth, there is a lot more to come from them.”

And Darrell believes that with momentum behind them, his team can start to climb the table.

He said: “We have had a lot of changes at the football club, but if over the next four or five games I can get us into the top seven, and then get us into the top five as quickly as possible, I am sure the momentum will come with us and I am sure more fans will come on board and get behind us.

“The supporters have been fantastic they are having to put up with a lot, and it is hard for them.”
