CHARITY SHIRT SWAP

3 May 2014

Nervous times for Gashead Sean Rogers

As if everyone associated with Bristol Rovers wasn’t nervous enough, Gashead Sean Rogers has an extra incentive for wanting Rovers to secure their league status tomorrow.

The self employed carpet cleaner from Bradley Stoke has accepted a bet from colleague and Bristol City fan Mike Stokes.

If Rovers retain their League Two status tomorrow, Mike will have to wear a Bristol Rovers shirt to work for a whole week. However, if the worst were to happen, Sean would have to wear a city shirt for the week.

Sean said: "It's going to be a lose-lose for me if we don't get that point. Not only will my team be kicked out of the league, which would be terrible, but I'll also have to wear a City shirt for a week,

"I'd be absolutely gutted – it would be a huge blow.”

The two men have decided to make it a charity event, and will be raising money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and ME Awareness.

Sean’s son Josh has Type One Diabetes, while Mike’s daughter suffers from ME. The pair will be donating 10% of their takings at work during that week to the two charities.
