Nick on recent form and the need for unity
I am hugely disappointed with the position we find ourselves in with just a few games to go this season. After the massive success off the pitch last week, it is extremely upsetting to see us continue to slip backwards on the pitch.
At the beginning of March we thought we had started to turn a corner after a couple of impressive results, including a comprehensive home win over Plymouth Argyle.
But since then we have found ourselves struggling at the wrong end of the table. It is simply not good enough, and we all expect more from those who pull on the blue and white quarters.
We have worked hard to strengthen the team since the turn of the year, but we still find ourselves lacking firepower at the top end of the team.
Our inability to score goals, puts pressure on the rest of the team, and our normally solid defence has found it difficult in recent weeks.
We now have eight games left to put things right, and we simply cannot do that without your help.
Your support this season has been fantastic, and I would like to apologise to those of you who made the long trips to Fleetwood and Hartlepool – the performances on those two occasions were not good enough, and as a club we let you down.
But we need your continued support if we are to climb up the league and away from the danger zone. And that starts on Saturday when Morecambe visit the Memorial Stadium.
Please get behind the team and help to remind them what they are capable of on their day. Our home form has been much more positive this season, and we need to resurrect that and get back to winning ways this weekend.
I know you are all feeling frustrated and angry at the moment, but we must unite together at this difficult time and do everything we can, as a group, to get out of this situation.
