That was the week that was
It might be viewed, by some, as a slow news week but if you look back over the articles we have published in the last seven days, you can see that there has been quite a lot to comment on.
As the build up to the new campaign continues in earnest, we can expect there to be more news from the Memorial Stadium.
Hopefully that might include news of more new arrivals, as manager Darrell Clarke has stated that he would still like to make as many as four new additions to his squad.
In addition, there are two pre-season games next week, so we will be able to run the rule over the new signings the manager has already made.
Just to recap, these are some of the articles we have brought to you in the last seven days.
Friday 4th July saw the publication of the Conference fixtures for next season which handed Rovers an opening day game against Grimsby Town and a local derby with Forest Green Rovers on Bank Holiday Monday (25th August).
Friday was also the day our club photographer was at the training ground and over the weekend we ran an article on, and a photo of, the five new signings who have arrived in BS7.
We also ran four articles on our connections (some of them slightly tenuous!) with every Conference club.
We brought you team news ahead of Tuesday evening’s fixture against Cirencester and also news of another pre-season game, against Cheltenham Town, which takes place on Tuesday 15th July.
We have run interviews with Darrell Clarke, new signing Lee Mansell, and Lee Brown during the week and over the next two days we will run an interview with Tom Parkes.
Still in the news section you can find a match report from the aforementioned game at Cirencester and how you can help our Community Department win a minibus.
Today, of course, we announced that next season’s kit will be launched on Tuesday 22nd July.
We were also informed that two of our first five games will be shown live on BT Sport.
The Grimsby match on 9th August will now kick off at 12.45pm, while the Bank Holiday clash against Forest Green Rovers will kick off at midday.
Next week Darrell will be taking his squad to the University of South Wales for a training camp and we will bring news and interviews from there throughout the week, as well as a match report and comments from
